The Blog

"I thought I could shoot people on the street the way designers looked at people, and get and give inspiration to lots of people in the process. My only strategy when I began The Sartorialist was to try and shoot style in a way that I knew most designers hunted for inspiration."
-The Sartorialist-

My Sayang into this blog to me. You know what, the blog is soooo cut and make me go AWWWW. Lardee and Ickle are so cute. Another AWWW. Greetings

Hi, people out there. It's been such a long time since I actually blogged. First and foremost, an official greeting from Nottingham Malaysia Campus. I'm taking Chemical Engineering there and my first sem is going to end soon, which is in roughly 2 or 3 weeks time. My class has around 155 students, some of them taking chem eng with environmental.yea, so thats it. My class is full of smarties, and quite a lot of them are JPA scholar. So, its hard to describe my situation now.

The Admin Building.
If you want to see Provost and Vice-Provost, come here.

People, I'm at Starbucks now. The one situated in Metro Point, Kajang. I'm here because Nott staff sent us an email that says there will be a power cut off from 10am to 3 pm, but when I left my room at around 10.25am, the fan was still moving, so screw it. I came here and ordered Toffee Nut Latte Frap. I brought my Applied Chem and Phy and Intro Chem notes because I don't know which bus to take back to campus, either the 2pm or 4pm.Now, I've decided. THE 4PM BUS because, its 1.36pm now and it's still early.

I'm chatting with my Sayang from 11am till now.I'm waiting for him to do collage my pics for me, so that I'll have new dp for  my FB.*hugs*
I can see Nott students here. It's quite a nice place here to isolate myself from boredom and stress. I feel like I'm back to civilization though the fact that here is 50% civilized.

Bare with me people.My camwhore=)

My fringe is long. I want my hair to grow longer and thicker, so that I can cut the style I want.
I can smell Christmas here.Soooo niceeeeee.

People, I'm going back home on the 18th of Dec. The so-called holiday is actually the study weeks. 3 weeks of holiday and then 2 weeks of exams. After that, 2 weeks of CNY holidays and Sem 2 start. How fast it is. FYI, I have 7 papers which is not fun at all.

*MERRY CHRISTMAS*

Wavin' Flag

It's a song by K'naan

There is another version of it
which is by Young Artists
All of them are Canadians
Bieber, Avril Lavigne,K'naan,....

I'm so outdated
because Baby just intro this song to me recently

It's a song for Haiti
Just like the 'We're the world'

As a conclusion,
it's a nice song
because
I got goosebumps after listening
I'm weird,
but it's an awesome song

Quoted from K'naan
'It's started out is my song, but then it became their song, all of this artistes' song'

It's so cold and silent
with a song titled
'Have I Told You Lately That I Love You'
stuck in my head

I screwed up my past 19 years
and still
I'm going to continue screw it up
though i dont want to

Nottingham

People out there,it's the 21st of September 2010 and I'm in Nottingham, Semenyih now. I reached here safe and sound.Nottingham is situated at Jalan Broga, which is like Jalan Minyak Beku. The Semenyih town is like Parit Sulong. This campus is quite awesome in a good and bad way.

The good way
  • The view of the campus is quite nice especially at night.
  • My room is not bad despite the fact that I'm staying on the highest floor, which is D. I moved in my stuffs like mad, walked up and down the stairs for 4 to 5 times.
  • I'm staying in the east and the faculty is in the west with Student Association in between. I walk like mad. I get to 'exercise', climbing and walking.
  • I saw the pool, gym, courts and tables in the Sports Complex which is quite near to me.
  • There is a 24 hours computer lab here.
  • I still can Skype despite the 'awesome' connection here.

The bad way
  • The so-called 'free internet' is just 128kbps. I buffered a song on Youtube for quite a long time. I need to pay if I want to upgrade to higher speed.
  • There is no P to P here, means no PPS and no downloading for me. Imagine it!
  • I can see dogs in the campus and I don't know why.
  • There is the water vending machine here and the nozzle is at the bottom. I heard my friend said he saw on the lowyat forum that the DOGS LICK THE NOZZLE!!!ewwwwwwww to the max.
  • Limited choices of food in the campus.

Tomorrow is the induction programme. Hopefully I won't 'fish' during the programme. Off to sleep, Good Night Malaysians and Good Morning Baby...=)

'T-zone strip'

The 'T-zone strip'
I bought it when I was in Hokkaido upon requested by my brother
He wanted a nose strip
Out of funky-ness
I bought this because I never seen this before
Maybe I 'sua ku'
The nose one is more sticky compared to the chin and the 'forehead'

But still
I find those 'strippers' uselss

KLIA

First and foremost, my blog is back to public again. Sorry guys...

Secondly, I would like to blog about KLIA. For me, the airport is one of the place I can feel the 'mixture of feelings'. 'Mixture of feelings', yeah, people come and go. You expecting people in a good mood and sending people off in a not so good mood. I'm going for holiday very soon, which is later and is a YEAH and when the time I come back is ISH and HAIZ.

I'm in the mood for this post is because I saw Chester's pics on FB, which was her gf who known as Charlene going off to Vancouver and it dates me back to the 5th of Aug, which Shurraj was finally off to Toronto. Chester, we can cry together.*blekz* and *cries*. That was the last time I saw him and yeah I know he is coming back next year, but it seems like forever.

To people who are going off very soon, Bon Voyage and Take Care.=)
The return makes one love the farewell. -Alfred De Musset-

People come and go
There is nothing we can do
Just be glad that we know them
It just like
How I know you

Time flies
The day I met you
We were two complete strangers
And what happening now
Isn't what I expected
Out of expectation

Time flies
We walk together
We study together
We eat together
We hold our hands together
We skate together
We did everything together
We work and play together

Time flies
We spent our time together everyday
For almost 6 months
Till
The day I'm leaving
I know how you felt

Time flies
You taught me right from wrong
You gave me advice when I need
So do I

Time flies
We talk about everything
Past, Present and even Future
We gossip around

Time flies
The day is finally here
The day I have to accept the fact
that you're leaving
Though
I don't want to

I know you are not afraid of cold, but still you must remember to wear thicker clothes.
If you're sick, please go see doctor.
Please eat!!!Don't go on diet because you're thin enough.

Lotso hugs and kisses..

Stay Or Go

Choose either one
Stay or Leave
It's so confusing
The day is coming in the speed of light.
It's the time to make the lifetime decision.
It is the only chance
There is no turning back once the decision is made.

Mails keep coming in
Wanting to forward to the One
Yet
Don't have the contacts

All I can do
Is just
Sit
and
Think

*fingers crossed*

Minyak Beku @25th of July 2010

Minyak Beku was the first place I brought my Baby to. It is because he always wanted to go to the 'Qing Ren Qiao'. You guys must be wondering why of all places he chose the bridge. It's because he saw a lot of pics on ppl going there and the view there quite not bad. So, I'm the GPS and as usual he is the driver though it's my territory.

Firstly, we went to Segenting for the bridge and also for the amazon fishes. Then, headed to Pantai Minyak Beku which is facing the Straits of Melaka for the sunset. We spent 3 to 4 hours there. We spent most of the time waiting for the sun to set. The sun starts to set around 6smtg, but we went there around 3 smtg. For more details you can visit SHURRAJ'S BLOG(click here). The funniest thing happened was baby on his GPS in his hp to find the road to the lighthouse and at that moment GPS showed that we were on the Straits of Malacca.LMAO.

A for the bridge, some people said couples cannot walk along the bridge together because the couples will break up. My mum doesn't know about it. So, it is still a question mark.??

I shall upload some pics now because typing isn't what I like. More pics on fb.

A good article..

I copied this article from somewhere. I find that this article is quite interesting and s written by Tunku Abdul Rahman's great granddaughter, which is a Malay girl. She wrote about races issues, the concept of 'One Malaysia' and others. I think that this article expressed what we felt about those Malay's rights and discriminant issues...A great article indeed...Enjoy ppl...

Sharyn completed her Diploma in Advertising from Taylor's College, and then left motherland to pursue her BA degree majoring in Media Studies and Anthropology at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. While waiting for her graduation in May 08, she interned briefly at M&C Saatchi Wellington, a global advertising firm. Upon returning to Malaysia, jobless and relieved of rent payments, Sharyn stumbled upon Wild Asia through The Star which sparked her interest to learn more about nature and environmental causes. Armed with a communications background, Sharyn works on the Wild Asia website and editorial, translating geek terms into laymen language, easily accessed and understood by visitors regardless of their backgrounds, be it scientific, business, the arts or just plain interested.
By The Tunku's Great Granddaughter

Tunku Abdul Rahman's great granddaughter

Sharyn Lisa Shufiyan, 24, Conservationist

Both my parents are Malay. My mum's heritage includes Chinese, Thai and Arab, while my dad is Minangkabau. Due to my skin colour, I am often mistaken for a Chinese.

I'm happy that I don't have the typical Malay look but I do get annoyed when people call me Ah Moi or ask me straight up "Are you Chinese or Malay"

Like, why does it matter? Before I used to answer "Malay" but now I'm trying to consciously answer Malaysian instead.

There's this incident from primary school that I remember till today. Someone told me that I will be called last during Judgement Day because I don't have a Muslim name. Of course, I was scared then but now that I'm older, I realise that a name is just a name. It doesn't define you as a good or bad person and there is definitely no such thing as a Muslim name. You can be named Rashid or Ali and still be a Christian.

I've heard of the 1Malaysia concept, but I think we don't need to be told to be united. We've come such a long way that it should already be embedded in our hearts and minds that we are united. Unfortunately, you can still see racial discrimination and polarisation. There is still this ethno-centric view that the Malays are the dominant group and their rights must be protected, and non Malays are forever the outsiders.

For the concept to succeed, I think the government should stop with the race politics. It's tiring, really. We grew up with application forms asking us to tick our race. We should stop painting a negative image of the other races, stop thinking about 'us' and 'them' and focus on 'we', 'our' and 'Malaysians'.

No one should be made uncomfortable in their own home. A dear Chinese friend of mine said to me once, "I don't feel patriotic because I am not made to feel like Malaysia is my home, and I don't feel an affinity to China because I have never lived there.

I know some baby Nyonya friends who can trace their lineage back hundreds of years. I'm a fourth generation Malaysian. If I am Bumiputra, why can't they be, too? Clearly I have issues with the term.

I think the main reason why we still can't achieve total unity is because of this 'Malay rights' concept. I'd rather 'Malay rights' be replaced by human rights. So unless we get rid of this Bumiputra status, or reform our views and policies on rights, we will never achieve unity.

For my merdeka wish, I'd like for Malaysians to have more voice, to be respected and heard. I wish that the government would uphold the true essence of parliamentary democracy. I wish for the people to no longer fear and discriminate against each other, to see that we are one and the same.

I wish that Malaysia would truly live up to the tourism spin of Malaysia truly Asia. Malaysians to lead - whatever their ethnic background. Only ONE NATIONALITY MALAYSIAN. No Malays, No Chinese, No Indians - ONLY MALAYSIANS. Choose whatever religion one is comfortable with.

Remember it was Dr M & UMNO who destroyed Tunku's Malaysia.

Green Now!!!

I was at my mum's aunt house, which was my grandaunt's house. Her house is located at somewhere near Taman Wawasan. I used to think that it was at Sungai Buloh and I only found out today. The last time I went there was more than 10 years ago and nothing much changed. That time, I explored the whole place. I played in the clear water, soaked my feet inside because it was cooling and now it still feels cooling. That time I also hunted for rubber seeds which were very easy to be found. This place is so calm and so green. I think this time will be the last time I went there.I kinda miss this good place, but not the mosquitoes...

Red Fever

It's RED , RED and RED!!!!!Red is a pretty colour, but sadly it is not my favourite colour.

  • Popcorn!!!!It's nice!!!!U 'pop' it youself by using microwave. This popcorn is very convenient. You just have to put the paper bag which contains the 'seed' into the microwave oven. Guess what will happen..The paper bag start to expand and eventually you will heard the awsome 'pop, pop, pop, pop' sound. It's so cool and I like it!!!!This flavour, which is 'Sweer'n Buttery' is quite nice and its not that sweet compared the caramel one we bought from cinemas.*Thumbs Up*.You guys can try it out by going to Jaya Grocer or any other places. There is also cheese flavour popcorn but it is the other brand. I wanted to buy that one, but I scare it'll taste funky.

  • Coke and Kitkat!!!!The grey Coke can at the left side is Cherry Coke, and the taste its a bit funky to me. I bought it because it's special and it is something new to me.LOL.The others are normal Coke and Diet Coke. Some are empty cans while some are not and idk whether they are expired or not. Kitkat cans!!I love them!!Baby Shurraj, these are the Kitkat cans!!!I bought them because I just want the cans and actually I'm not a fan of Kitkat because they are extremely sweet. The cans are pretty, esp the picture on it. When I brought them home, mum asked me why I bought them. I told her I want the cans and she was the one who paid for these cans.

  • Red Boot Mugs!!!!There are four of them, which means each of us(me, bros and sis) get one each. These mugs are actually the 'seasonal' mugs because there are words on them which are 'Christmas 2006' and there are also  Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell(on the other side). The mug was actually together with the Tiramisu ice-cream(which was in a plastic cup).Lucky..
